# Calendar

> Your Google Calendar with Sydbar's dates on top: follow-ups, renewals and invoices due.

Source: https://sydbar.app/docs/calendar

Open **Calendar** in the side rail.

## The views

- **Week** on a computer: seven days, an hourly grid and an **All day** row, with **Today** and previous and next week.
- **Agenda** on a phone: one heading per day, or "Nothing scheduled."

On large screens a sidebar adds a small month view, a checkbox per Google calendar (up to 12 shown), Sydbar dates, and your booking links. Hidden calendars are remembered for the business.

## Sydbar dates

| Date | Comes from |
| --- | --- |
| Follow-up | A follow-up you set on a conversation |
| Cancel by | A subscription you plan to cancel |
| Renews | A tracked subscription's next charge |
| Invoice due | A sent invoice that isn't paid |

## Event details

Open an event to see its guests (the first 8, then "+N more"), the client and conversations it relates to ("In your mail"), and **Open in Google Calendar**. Events added from a conversation link back to it.

## Add an event from an email

On a conversation, choose **Follow up → Add to calendar…**. If the email spells out a date it's filled in. The event goes on your own calendar with no attendees. See [Follow-ups](/docs/follow-ups#add-to-calendar).

## Adding events

Three ways, all onto the business's primary Google Calendar:

- **On the calendar**: press **New event**, or click an empty hour in the week. Title, date, start and end, guests and a note. Guests are email addresses; Google sends each one an invitation. Without guests nothing is sent to anyone.
- **From a client's chat** (Ask Sydbar): ask for a call or a deadline, for example "put a kickoff with Mara on Tuesday at 10". Sydbar proposes it as a card; Apply adds it, and the card links to the event once it's on your calendar.
- **From an agent**: the `add_calendar_event` tool in [Agent tools](/docs/agent-tools). Inviting guests is an email from you, so it needs a key you allowed to send.

## Requirements

The calendar needs Google connected for the business with calendar access. Without it, Sydbar shows its own dates only and says why:

| Message | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| No Google account is connected to {Business} | Connect Gmail through Google in Settings → Connections. |
| Reconnect Google in Connections and allow calendar access | Reconnect and allow calendar access on Google's screen. |
| Google Calendar isn't switched on for Sydbar's Google Cloud project yet | The Calendar API needs enabling on the server's Google project. |
| Google Calendar didn't respond | Try again in a minute. |
