# Business context

> What Sydbar knows about a business. The interview, documents and Notion pages, used only after you confirm them.

Source: https://sydbar.app/docs/context

Open **Business context** in the side rail. Drafts and scopes use only what's confirmed here.

## The interview

**Teach Sydbar about {Business}**: "A 10-minute interview, one question at a time. Type or talk; skip anything. You review the result before Sydbar uses it." Choose **Start interview**, and **Resume** to pick up where you left off.

It covers eight topics: what it does, customers, offers, money terms, first email to paid, voice, boundaries and links. Sydbar asks at most two follow-ups per topic and shows how many minutes are left.

At the end Sydbar writes a 600 to 1,200 word `business-context.md` and saves it as proposed. It isn't used until you confirm it.

## Add documents

Under **Add context**, choose a file (.md, .markdown or .txt) or paste text, and pick a type: **Business profile**, **Agreement** or **Other**. Each document is up to 100 KB.

## Confirm before use

| Section | Means |
| --- | --- |
| Confirmed sources | Used in drafts, invoices and scopes. |
| Waiting for confirmation | "Proposed · not used until you confirm it." Choose **Confirm** or **Remove**. |

Editing or re-importing a source makes a new version that waits for confirmation again.

## Client scopes

Confirming a client's scope of work saves it as `scope-of-work.md`, linked to that client and confirmed. Each new confirmed scope makes a new version.

Files and pasted text belong to the whole business. To add a page for one client, import it [from Notion](/docs/notion) and pick that client.

## Sender

The **Sender** section shows the confirmed sending address, or offers **Use {address}** when the connected mailbox differs.
