# Reply to an email

> Write a reply, reply all, attach an invoice or leave it out, and send it from the business's own mailbox.

Source: https://sydbar.app/docs/replies

Every reply is sent from the business's connected mailbox, in the same thread, so the other person sees one conversation. An invoice is never required.

## Reply

1. Open the conversation and choose **Reply**.
2. The reply goes to the person who wrote last. Tick **Reply all** to copy everyone else on that message.
3. Write your message. Your [signature](/docs/signatures) shows underneath exactly as it will be sent. Untick **Include in this reply** to leave it off this once.
4. Press **Send**. Sending approves that exact message and sends it.

## Reply with an invoice

If the conversation has an invoice in progress, you can attach it, and remove it again.

1. In the invoice creator, choose **Attach to reply** (or **Attach vN to reply**).
2. The review is titled **Reply with invoice** and shows who receives it, the sending address, the attached version and the amount.
3. Tick **I approve this exact reply**. Any edit to the text or the invoice clears the tick.
4. Press **Send**.

See [Invoices](/docs/invoices).

## When Send is off

Send stays off, with a reason, when:

- there's no recipient;
- the attached invoice isn't the current version;
- the business's mailbox isn't connected;
- the sending address doesn't match the connected mailbox.

If sending fails, Sydbar says so and never retries on its own.

## Sample conversations

A reply to a sample conversation goes to a controlled address, never to a real person.

## Write a new email to a client's team

To start a new conversation with several people at a client, use **Email the team** on the client page. See [Client team](/docs/client-team).
