Follow-ups and subscriptions
Bring a conversation back on a date, and keep track of renewals so you can cancel in time.
Set a follow-up
Open a conversation and choose Follow up:
- Tomorrow
- Next week
- Before {vendor} renews, when the conversation has a tracked subscription. It lands 3 days before the next charge and fills in the note "Cancel {vendor} before renewal".
- Pick a date…: a date (today or later) and an optional note of up to 120 characters, then Set follow-up.
Agents connected over MCP can set follow-ups too.
When it's due
On the date, the conversation comes back to the top of Needs you, even if you archived it (not if it's in Trash). The row reads "Due · {note}". The Follow-ups view lists every follow-up by date, and your calendar shows them under Sydbar dates.
A due follow-up shows up in Sydbar. Sydbar doesn't send a notification or email about it.
Change or finish it
Open Follow up again: Done, Change date… or Remove follow-up. "Done" on a cancel-before-renewal follow-up reads Done, cancelled and also marks the subscription cancelled.
Add to calendar
Follow up → Add to calendar… puts an event on your own Google Calendar: a title, date, start and end. If the email spells out a date, it's filled in. With no time it becomes an all-day event. Nobody is invited: "Added to your calendar. No one was invited."
Subscriptions
When a new email looks like a subscription (renewal, receipt, trial ending, card declined and similar), Sydbar reads the vendor, amount, how often it charges and the next charge date, and shows a suggestion with the sentences it used:
- Plan to cancel by {date}: tracks it and sets a cancel-by follow-up, 3 days before the next charge by default.
- Just track it: shows the renewal on your calendar.
- Not a subscription: dismisses it.
If Sydbar didn't spot one, choose Follow up → Track as subscription. Once you've cancelled with the vendor, choose Mark cancelled.
Sydbar never contacts the vendor or cancels anything. Cancelling stays with you.
